During her time at Marquette University, McElwee began an internship at East Town Association. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in economics, she was promoted into various positions at East Town over the past nine years.
In her new role as executive director, McElwee will lead East Town Association’s flagship events, including Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park and Cathedral Square Market. She also is responsible for recruitment and retention of the association’s residential and business members.
McElwee lives in Shorewood with her husband and one-year-old son. Outside of work, she’s enjoying renovating a 1920s bungalow and is becoming an expert on Milwaukee County Parks’ many playgrounds.
