BizTimes invites readers to attend First Business Economic Forum

First Business Bank, along with the A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business and Carroll University, will release the results of the 2010 First Business Economic Survey of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties at the First Business Economic Forum on Dec. 15.

The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Carroll University Center for Graduate Studies.

BizTimes Media LLC, which is the media sponsor for the First Business Economic Form, invites its readers to attend the event.

This is the only economic survey specific to Milwaukee and Waukesha County businesses. The survey analyzes common business indicators such as sales revenue, total-operating costs as a percentage of revenue, changes in wages, and profitability gathered from CEOs, CFOs, and business owners of Milwaukee and Waukesha County businesses. This is the third year the survey has been conducted.

The forum will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a networking and continental breakfast.

A panel discussion to be moderated Lynn Sprangers, executive in residence for Women’s Leadership/Mount Mary College, will follow. Panelists at this year’s event include:

  • Tom Hefty, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Cobalt Corp., and its subsidiary, BlueCross BlueShield United of Wisconsin.
  • Kent Lorenz, president of the Midwest Region of Ellison Technologies.
  • Christine Holloway, vice president of Converged Infrastructure Solutions at CDW.
  • Wayne Wiertzema, executive vice president of Wangard Partners LLC.

The survey was prepared by Quincy Long, John Faustgen and Amanda Decker of the A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Research at the UW-Madison School of Business.
