The Web Marketing Association and International Academy of the Visual Arts have honored Milwaukee-based 7Summits with five awards for contributing to exceptional online experiences on the websites for Johnson Controls, Milwaukee Electric Tool, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). In its second year of recognition, the social business agency was awarded for excelling in website design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use. The agency was also recognized for impacting business value through the creation of each awarded website. Awards include: “Outstanding Website Award” for the Milwaukee Electric Tool FUEL marketing site, the “University Standard of Excellence Award” for the MSOE admissions website, and three silver awards in the General Website Categories for Johnson Controls and MSOE’s sites. Core Creative Inc., Milwaukee, has been recognized with the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility for implementing flexibility into the office to enhance both business and employee success. The award is part of the “When Work Works” project spearheaded by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management and honors businesses of all sizes and industries nationwide. The initiative emphasizes the importance of workplace flexibility through research and suggestions for best practices. To be considered for the Sloan Awards, employers are evaluated based on their flexibility practices already in place. Employees also complete confidential surveys. Each competitor is compared to national standards determined by the National Study of Employers. IndependenceFirst Mobility Store

Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization IndependenceFirst has merged with the Wheelchair Recycling Program to create the IndependenceFirst Mobility Store, a program that will offer gently used, affordable medical equipment for adults and children with disabilities. The program will operate under IndependenceFirst, which provides independent living skills training, peer counseling, advocacy, and information and referral services to people with disabilities throughout Greater Milwaukee. The Wheelchair Recycling Program’s branches in Milwaukee and Madison will both be part of the new merger and will keep their existing locations at 12040 W. Feerick St., Unit N, Wauwatosa and 2554 Advance Road, Madison. The IndependenceFirst Mobility Store locations will be open to the general public but will cater to individuals unable to afford new equipment. All equipment will be refurbished and sanitized and sold at a discounted rate. The stores will also accept donations, which will grant donors a tax reduction. Store open houses are scheduled for Mondays through Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wauwatosa location. An online mobility store catalog can be viewed at www.ifmobility.org.

Capture Marketing, Pewaukee, launched a new website for Kollege Town Sports earlier this month after being selected by the Adidas team sports apparel dealer to oversee its marketing and media strategies. The website, www.kollegetown.com, includes information about team sports and corporate apparel programs. Kollege Town Sports creates athletic apparel for teams and companies through in-house custom screen-printing, embroidery, applique and laser etching technology.
