Zoo receives award for excellence in diversity

The Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s Conservation Education Department recently was honored with an award for excellence in diversity by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The award recognizes the nonprofit ZSM and the Milwaukee County Zoo for partnering to offer programs to economically disadvantaged children.

Dr. Robert Davis, president and CEO of the Zoological Society, and Zoo director Charles Wikenhauser accepted the award at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ annual conference, held in September in Portland, Ore.
