Workshop will focus on contractor opportunities for high-speed rail

The DOT will host a workshop on opportunities for design and other contracts relating to high-speed rail development in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Support Services Office will host a workshop and information session on opportunities for design and other contracts relating to high-speed rail development in Wisconsin.

The workshop will take place Tuesday, Jan. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), 800 Main St., in Pewaukee.

The agenda will include a presentation on the five Notice of Interest (NOI) contracts for solicitation. The presentation will be provided by DOT project management leads John Oimoen, LeAnna Wall, Donna Brown and Crystal DuPont. The NOI contracts are subject to Federal Rail Administration project approval.

The projects of interest for private contractors will include:

* High-speed rail and design between Watertown and the Madison corridor.

* Program controls for Milwaukee to Madison

* Station environmental documentation at four station locations.

* Train shed design and construction.

* Train set technical inspection.

A presentation also will be provided on DBE Support Services Office assistance, DBE goals and other information.
