Woodman’s brings online ordering service to Milwaukee area

Service launched last year in Madison

FaB Wisconsin will launch a second class of its FaBcap accelerator program.

Woodman’s Markets has expanded its online order service making it available to Milwaukee area customers.

The service, first launched during the summer of 2015 in Madison, allows customers to order products online to be picked up at the store or delivered to homes and offices.

Other grocers are also offering online ordering services. Last year Sendik’s launched a service that enables customers to browse and select grocery items online, pay for them online and pick up their full orders in store.

Woodman’s claims to be the Milwaukee area’s first grocery store chain to offer online order and delivery services.

“The Milwaukee market has become increasingly competitive. Providing online ordering and delivery to the entire metro area allows us to really differentiate from our competitors while providing excellent service to our customers,” Clint Woodman, president of Woodman’s Markets, said.

The expansion of the online ordering service is based on its success in Madison that, in the first seven months, attracted several thousand customers and increased average basket sizes by six-times the average in-store basket size.

“The success of ShopWoodmans.com, in my mind, means that we’re doing something right – that this is something our customers want,” said Woodman, “I’m very excited about how it can grow moving forward.”

Available via web browser or the Woodman’s mobile app, the service offers customers a $10 discount on their first order with a minimum of $50.
