Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and Johnson Financial Group began accepting applications Monday for the fourth annual “Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin” contest.

Any product made in Wisconsin is eligible for the contest and nominations are open through Aug. 30. Companies can self-nominate and details on entries are available at www.madeinwis.com.

“This contest has quickly become one of the best ways to highlight the state’s vibrant and diverse manufacturing industry,” said Kurt Bauer, president and chief executive officer of WMC.

Previous contest winners include Harley-Davidson’s Milwaukee Eight engine, Oshkosh Corporation’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, and the Sea Salt Caramel Pecan Kringle from Unle Mike’s Bake Shoppe in De Pere.

“Every year we are blown away by all the cool things we make in the state, and we cannot wait to see what comes out on top this year,” said Jim Popp, CEO of Johnson Financial Group.

A popular vote from Sept. 9 to Sept. 15 among nominated products will determine the top 16 in the 2019 contest. Products will then face off in weeklong head-to-head matchups over four rounds to determine a winner.

The winner will be announced Oct. 8 at the WMC Foundation Business and Industry Lunch.
