Wisconsin Philanthropy Network names Tony Shields as president

He currently leads United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee

Tony Shields, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Philanthropy Network.

Wisconsin Philanthropy Network, a Brookfield-based professional membership association for grantmakers across the state, has named Tony Shields as its new president and CEO.

Shields is currently executive director of United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee and an adjunct professor for Cardinal Stritch University’s College of Business and Management.

He replaces Jill Van Calster, who became president of HEAR Wisconsin in August.

Shields will begin in his role at WPN’s Statewide Conference on Philanthropy on Nov. 1.

Previously, he was manager of community relations for Harley-Davidson Inc., and has held development and public relations management positions with the Milwaukee Bucks, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and other firms.

Wisconsin Philanthropy Network includes 120 member organizations that contribute more than $600 million annually to nonprofits. The network helps support philanthropy through education and research, best practices, partnerships and thought leadership.
