The full report, which covers the third quarter of 2015, will be released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on March 9 and includes data gathered from unemployment insurance records from about 96 percent of Wisconsin businesses.

During the third quarter, covered private sector employers increased quarterly wages by 4.9 percent year-over-year, according to the DWD.

Weekly unemployment insurance claims also dropped in 2015 to their lowest level since 1989. And new business formation increased by 3.6 percent in 2015 versus 2015, the agency said.

“Wisconsin’s private sector added 30,200 jobs over the 12-month period ending in September 2015, underscoring the state’s continuing economic growth,” said Ray Allen, secretary of the DWD. “As Wisconsin’s talent development agency, the Department of Workforce Development will continue to help Wisconsin workers gain the skills needed to fill openings that employers have available.”
