Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare announced its All Saints Cancer Center in Racine will undergo a $20 million expansion and remodeling project that will more than double its size. Construction is expected to begin in August, and the expanded center is scheduled to open in October 2016.
“Our goal is to provide much-needed space, amenities, and comfort services allowing patients and their families to focus on what’s important – healing,” said Susan Boland, president of the South Market. “The new Cancer Center will meet an ever-growing need and will positively impact the lives of cancer patients in our community for years to come.”
Patients will have access to state-of-the-art spaces and services including private, semi-private and open chemotherapy and infusion treatment areas, committed space for patient and family education, additional patient exam rooms, and an outdoor healing terrace.
In 2014, the All Saints Cancer Center treated nearly 700 cancer patients, including approximately two new people every day. Early detections, increased survival rates and longer lives are clear victories against cancer, according to the health system, but they also mean increased demand on the current cancer facility.
The All Saints Cancer Care Program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program of Breast Cancers, and is ranked in the top 15 percent of cancer programs in the nation.
Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects is serving as the project’s architectural design firm, and Riley Construction of Kenosha is the general contractor.
