‘We’ve had enough of Enough’

It’s bad enough that the shadowy ‘Enough’ continues to hide its identity and the source of its big money. Now this ethically compromised group is using misleading and wrong information. Surely Enough is ignoring the standards of proper professional conduct.

Smart people see through the scare tactics and falsehoods coming from a group that refuses to come clean about its mysterious origins. Enough has a lot of money for TV ads, but no credibility whatsoever.

The U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) found the Kenosha project will create thousands of good jobs for Wisconsin – and that any impact on jobs at the Potawatomi casino in Milwaukee will be modest and quickly overcome. The BIA also points out several times in its approval document that the Potawatomi and Milwaukee leaders are simply trying to prevent competition for Potawatomi’s Milwaukee casino.

Enough’s false claims of corruption involve people who have not been involved for many years. The BIA reviewed the Menominee application with a fine-toothed comb and found it to be clean, proper and a positive job- and revenue-creator for the Tribe, the southeast Wisconsin region and the state.

If the Kenosha casino is ultimately approved, the Tribe will buy Dairyland Greyhound Park – which is currently closed, shuttered and gathering dust – from an Alabama-based owners group. That site will then become locally owned and a vibrant economic development project that will create thousands of new jobs for Wisconsin residents and generate millions of dollars in new revenue for state and local governments.

We’re not sure why anyone would have a problem with that – of course, we’re not sure about a lot with Enough.

We’ve had enough of Enough. They should say who they are, and we hope others will take a careful and thorough look at their inaccurate claims. Some people think Enough is actually Illinois gaming interests at work. Whoever it is, they clearly don’t have Wisconsin’s best interests in mind.”
