A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently to celebrate the start of construction of a 101-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel at the corner of West Greenfield Avenue and South 82nd Street near Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis. The four-story hotel is expected to open in August 2015.
It will have 8,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space that can accommodate groups of up to 300, a swimming pool, a fitness center and a business center. Wisconsin Dells-based Stand Rock Hospitality will oversee the development and operation of the hotel. The general contractor for the project is Madison-based Horizon Construction Group. The architecture firm for the project is Plunkett Raysich Architects LLP.
