West Allis health clinic development could get tax credits

Up to $7 million in New Market Tax Credits could be awarded to the Whole Health Clinic development project planned for West Allis.

First-Ring Industrial Redevelopment Enterprise, or FIRE, Investment Committee & Governing Board will meet Dec. 14 to decide if the tax credits should be given to the project, located at 932 S. 60th St., in the former Roosevelt School.

Cardinal Capital Management Inc. is developing the 21,000-square-foot building and plans to lease it to Milwaukee Center for Independence.

FIRE is a community development entity formed by the City of West Allis in 2007 to issue tax credits to help finance developments in low-income areas throughout the metropolitan Milwaukee area.
