Weirick named president of Polacheck Property Management

Joseph T. Weirick has been named president and CEO of Polacheck Property Management, replacing David Kliber, a long-time Polacheck associate who helped start the property management division in 1987.
Weirick has become a significant shareholder in Polacheck, has joined the board of directors and has assumed the responsibility for the Polacheck Property Management’s Milwaukee, Madison, Appleton and Eau Claire offices.
He joined the firm on July 17.
Kliber is no longer with the company, a spokesman for the firm said.
Weirick came to Polacheck Property Management from Trammell Crow Co., where he served as the executive vice president, overseeing the firm’s Milwaukee operations. He left Trammell-Crow at the end of May, intending to start his own firm here, But Weirick said as he was making those plans, he was contacted by Mark Brickman, CEO of Polacheck, to discuss joining Polacheck.
During his 12 years with Trammell Crow, Weirick was in charge of several high-profile properties and projects, including the 100 East building at 100 E. Wisconsin Ave., the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the downtown Milwaukee YMCA, and the downtown campus of UW-Milwaukee.
Last December Weirick – along with Palisades Realty and Development Corp. – was hired by New Arcade, LLC, to direct the redevelopment of Milwaukee’s Grand Avenue Mall. He will continue on that project. Physical work on the redevelopment has recently begun.
Prior to his tenure at Trammell Crow, Weirick was a partner in JMB Realty in Chicago, where he was the director of leasing for the firm’s properties in Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia. He also worked for Century Capital Corp. in Houston.
Weirick serves on the board of the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Milwaukee Riverwalk District, the Milwaukee Downtown Management District, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Congress of New Urbanism.
Weirick, 42, is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He and his wife Lisa and their three children reside in Whitefish Bay.
Polacheck Property Management handles more than five million square feet of commercial space.
