The Wisconsin Economic Development Association announced that it has named Mary Perry as its new president and chief executive officer. She replaces Brian Doudna, who was the executive director of WEDA from 2014 until October of 2020, when he left to lead the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corp. WEDA is a statewide nonprofit organization that advocates for economic development interests of the private and public sectors. Perry was previously senior director of business and investment attraction for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. She worked for WEDC for 10 years and before that for its predecessor state agency, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. "Mary is a tremendous addition to the WEDA family, and we look forward to her leadership and guidance as we continue to grow and improve as an organization," said Bob Dennik, WEDA board chair. "As a WEDA member for many years, I have long relied on the organization to maintain valuable professional relationships and have a deep appreciation for its programming and resources," Perry said. "I am both humbled and honored to join WEDA and continue advancing economic development in Wisconsin."
