WCEDC annual meeting to showcase food and beverage industry

The Waukesha County Economic Development Corp. will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, June 3, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield.

The meeting, “Tasting Economic Success,” will highlight manufacturing innovations and economic development in Waukesha County’s food and beverage industry.

“With more than 240 food and beverage manufacturers in southeast Wisconsin, this sector is an important driving force in strengthening and building the economy in the area,” said Bill Mitchell, executive director. “This event gives business leaders an opportunity to see strengths, success stories and industry innovations in a manufacturing cluster that employs approximately 14,000 people in the area.”

Award-winning chef and restaurateur Sandy D’Amato will emcee a culinary challenge between the chefs at Brookfield’s Hom Wood Fired Grill and New Berlin’s Matty’s Bar & Grille. Attendees will receive a copy of D’Amato’s book, “Good Stock: Life on a Slow Simmer.”

The meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost is $75 in advance and $85 at the door. For more information or to register, visit waukeshacountyedc.org.
