WAUSAU – Monks Gardens adds first building, more gardens to site

The Robert W. Monk Gardens has begun construction on a building that will make the site more useful to visitors even as it is planting more gardens and becoming more of a Wausau landmark.

A new 2,000-square-foot shelter will be the garden’s first major structure, said Jim Force, a member of the board of directors that oversees the site. It will be used for classes, events and as a general common space.
