Bentonville, Arkansas-based retail giant Walmart said today that it plans to invest $150 million to update and remodel 28 stores in Wisconsin this year.

That includes stores located in Kenosha, Lake Geneva, Sheboygan, West Bend, Sturtevant, Delavan, Pewaukee, New Berlin, Hartford, and two locations in the city of Milwaukee at 401 E. Capitol Drive and 3355 S. 27th St.

Walmart said the store improvements will “create an updated experience for customers, including expanded shopping options.”

When complete, many of the remodeled stores will offer pick up, delivery and “express” deliveries in under two hours.

“Our local stores have never been more important to the way we serve customers today and, in the future,” said Shane Bourk, regional general manager for Walmart. “These investments will make it easier for our stores and associates to get customers what they want, when they want it.”

Walmart has 99 stores in Wisconsin, including Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and Sam’s Club locations, and 34,000 employees in the state. The company has more than 10,500 stores worldwide and 2.3 million employees.
