Wall drops out of Senate race

Despite insisting his campaign had proven it could win the Senate race with an “honest, clean campaign,” Middleton real estate developer Terrence Wall reluctantly dropped out of the GOP primary this afternoon.
Wall, who has struggled to grain traction since he was dogged in the early days of the campaign over questions regarding the taxes he’s paid, did not mention GOP frontunner Ron Johnson in his announcement.
Wall had a poor showing at last weekend’s GOP convention, fueling speculation about his campaign.
However, Wall’s statement ticks off what he says are a series of accomplishments, including closing to “within the margin of error” in recent polls against Feingold.
“And no matter how much I want to stay in and fight, I feel the honorable thing to do is exit,” Wall said in an e-mail to his supporters.
