Gov. Scott Walker today denied there was any link between campaign contributions to a third-party group and GOP action to limit the liability of lead paint manufacturers.
Walker told reporters today he and others argued even before he took office in 2011 that changes were needed to tort laws following a state Supreme Court decision that opened the door to lawsuits against lead paint manufacturers.
“Nobody should be shocked I did what I said I’d do,” Walker said.

Leaked documents released Wednesday by the British newspaper the Guardian include correspondence that suggests Walker had input on ads the Wisconsin Club for Growth ran during the 2012 recall election and they included additional examples of Walker soliciting contributions for the group.
Walker refused today to acknowledge he solicited money for the Wisconsin Club for Growth.
