Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has named Brian Satula as administrator of Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM).
Satula has more than 33 years experience in fire services, including five years as chief of the City of Oak Creek Fire Department.
"Brian Satula has had a distinguished career in fire services and emergency management," Walker said. "I know Brian’s top priority is protecting our citizens and communities. His extensive experience as a first responder to numerous emergencies including fires, natural disasters and hazardous material spills, and his vast knowledge of emergency management will serve him well in this position."
Satula, 54, is a member of the Governor’s Homeland Security Council. Satula serves as president of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Wisconsin, a mutual aid system used for fire services. He also has served on various state and national fire, law enforcement, communications, and mutual aid committees. In addition to these qualifications, Brian Satula is an instructor at the Milwaukee Area Technical College in the Associate Degree and certification programs, and he is state-certified fire service instructor and a National Incident Command System instructor.
