Walgreens to leave Orchard View Shopping Center in Franklin for new store

The Walgreens store at Orchard View Shopping Center at 7100 S. 76th St. in Franklin plans to move out of the strip mall and into a new 14,490-square-foot store that will be built in the parking lot.
The developer for the project is Meridian Franklin LLC, which is buying an outlot in the northwest corner of the Orchard View parking lot from the owner of the shopping center, Greendale-based O’Braun Corp.
The sale of the outlot will provide a boost for O’Braun, but Walgreens will leave a 11,295-square-foot space vacant at Orchard View. The 104,251-square-foot shopping center has several vacancies, including a vacant 44,703 space that was formerly occupied by a Sentry grocery store, which closed about a year ago.
