Consistent dedication to value and service has continued to drive New Berlin-based W.I.S. Logistics, a third party, full service logistics provider.

The company has seen positive growth over the past three years, and projects created growth and more jobs for the community.

“We’re a service driven industry,” said Jon Teraoka, chief executive officer of the company. “Our biggest advantage is our team of people willing to overcome challenges for our customers.”

W.I.S. hires innately customer-focused individuals, but it’s the tools within the company that have helped make their jobs easier.

Three years ago, the company invested in a transportation management system that allows clients to manage contracts, quotes, shipments, and spending all in one system.

In 2014, more changes emerged on the company’s website, with the addition of a live chat support feature, the purchase of a new customer relations management system and the launch of its Entrepreneurial Operating System.

The EOS is a unique initiative designed to get the management team and the employees in the same line of thought, Teraoka said.

“As we grow, we want to make sure everyone is on the same page, all working together to achieve the same goals,” Teraoka said. “As a team, we work together to address challenges and monitor those challenges and the progress we make.”

The company offers full truck services, partials and LTL services. It provides trucks, vans, and flatbeds for its clients.
Recently, W.I.S. returned to a line of business it previously had gotten out of. The company began offering transportation management services at the end of 2014 out of a need that it identified with its customers.

“We reached out to clients we were already doing business with and realized we could really provide a better value to them by managing their entire transportation needs,” Teraoka said. “We work with their management team to understand their needs and strategic direction and then implement a program that’s suited to them.”

Teraoka expects that line of business to grow. After launching the program at the end of 2014, W.I.S. already has three new clients.

“The new business line adds to the full-service nature of what we can provide for our clients,” Teraoka said. “It’s important to us to continuously be serving our clients by bringing value to their businesses.”
