Target clientele: “Our main clientele are manufacturing companies. We are able to work with small to medium to large companies, and multiple divisions within those companies. What has fueled your company’s growth? “Our employees fuel our company’s growth. We are at heart, a service company. It is the customer service that each of our employees provide daily that makes us stand out from the rest. Our employees present an unparalleled value to our customers, from pickup to final delivery. The customer service we provide often exceeds our clients’ expectations.”

What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth? “As we go into the latter half of 2012 – 2013, we continue to expect to see a shortage of drivers. With new regulations in place for drivers, many will be unable to comply. The economy will grow slowly. This shortage will have a major impact on all truck services.”

Do you plan any changes in your company in the upcoming months? “Yes, we are currently in the process of expanding into a larger building, which will allow us to continue to grow our customer service staff, our warehousing operations and consolidations services.”

Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? And what traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them? “Steve Jobs. He had a different vision in a mature marketplace. Rather then go with everyone else, he introduce product(s) that we didn’t realize we wanted. He took the product(s) and the packaging and put them in a class of their own.”

What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months? “I think all areas of the trucking business will continue to do well through the end of 2012.”

What is your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession? “Our company was able to rise out of the recession by utilizing many strategies in marketing/sales and keeping a tight handle on our operational cost. In addition, as I listened to my network groups, MMAC and the various speakers at TEC, I knew when was a good time to invest, upgrade our technology, hire great people and add new products and services to our menu in 2010. I felt that we got off to a running start, which allowed W.I.S. Logistics to become a transportation leader in Milwaukee into 2012.”
