Voters approve three area school building referendums

Projects approved for Muskego, Mukwonago and Menomonee Falls

Voters in Muskego, Mukwonago and Menomonee Falls approved significant building project referendums in Tuesday’s elections, providing even more work for an already busy local construction industry.

In Muskego, voters approved a $43.2 million school facilities referendum, which will include a new middle school and will consolidate the district’s five elementary schools into three by closing the two oldest schools and expanding two existing elementary schools.

In Mukwonago, voters approved $49.5 million to renovate and expand the high school.

In Menomonee Falls, voters approved a $32.7 million district-wide facility improvement program, which will include numerous facility upgrades and demolition of two buildings.

However, in Grafton voters rejected two building referendums, one for $47.7 million in facility upgrades and the other for $1.8 million in physical education, athletic and recreational area upgrades.

And in Waterford, voters rejected a $12.2 million referendum to build a new 52,000-square-foot field house at the high school.
