Randall D. Crocker, the president and chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based law firm von Briesen & Roper, s.c. has died, the firm announced today. He was 64.

John P. Rocco, a long-standing board member with the firm, has been appointed president and CEO. He joined von Briesen in 2002 and has served as a director and vice president of the firm since 2007.

“Randy passed away unexpectedly over the past weekend and we join his family in mourning his loss,” Rocco said. “As the leader of our firm since 2004, he took great pride in the growth and excellence he helped create. He also built a strong management team that will work hard to carry on his legacy of visionary leadership.”

Crocker joined the firm in 1988 and led its growth from 162 employees in 2004 to more than 350 employees in nine offices across the state today.

“The dedicated management and client teams that Randy put in place will carry on in the spirit of teamwork and superior service he fostered as president and CEO,” Rocco said. “We will miss him greatly and are committed to carrying on in the fashion he would expect of us.”

Crocker was also an active member of the Milwaukee Community. He served as chairman of the board of directors for Discovery World Museum. He served as secretary, treasurer and as a board member for the Pabst Theater Foundation and the Riverside Theater Foundation. He served as commodore of the Milwaukee Yacht Club. He was a board member and president of the Milwaukee Club. He was also secretary/treasurer of the Milwaukee Dancers’ Fund, which supports dancers with the Milwaukee Ballet Company. He was a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce, the Wisconsin Policy Forum and the Marquette Law School Board of Advisors.
