“The primary source contributing to the growth of the company continues to be the development of relationships through networking events and marketing seminars. In addition, we maintain a presence in the community through sponsorships with such organizations as Boy Scouts of America and the Real Estate Alliance for Charity, Inc. Not only does the dedication to community contribute to success, but our commitment to exceeding customer expectations, providing a high level of service, and keeping strength in our employee relations all factor into progressive growth.”
What has been the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?
“One factor hindering the growth of the company is the ability to effectively manage the exponential growth. Due to the rapid growth and expansion of the company, it is has been difficult to implement procedures and processes to accommodate the many changes.”
Do you have any planned changes for your company in the coming months?
“Velcheck & Finger is in the implementation stages of a new accounting software package to simplify job and labor costing, in addition to developing a customer database to efficiently track information. Additionally, the company recently purchased a mobile crane in order to increase efficiency on the job site and plans to purchase another service truck, increasing the number of crews within the next year. Furthermore, Velcheck & Finger continues to incorporate process and procedure manuals for the execution of streamline operating systems.”

“One business owner who is admired by the owners of Velcheck & Finger is Richard Meeusen of Badger Meter, Inc of Milwaukee for his passion and enthusiasm for the city and residents of Milwaukee. Another business owner who is deserving of mention is Michael Cudahy, founder of Marquette Electronics and creator of Discovery World. His integrity and vision as an early entrepreneur has been a beneficial part of expansion in Milwaukee.”
What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months?
“The outlook for the roofing/construction industry as a whole continues to be soft as in previous years. However, because of the unique services our organization provides in the roofing industry, along with added staff, and prospective acquisitions, we feel Velcheck & Finger is positioned for stable and continued growth.”
What has been your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession?
“As we continue to produce in this soft market, it is the company goal to maintain high levels of service, professionalism, and reliability. This will be accomplished through continued participation in external sources by networking, but also internally through the implementation of effective processes and procedures, supporting qualified and experienced staff, and exploring new growth opportunities. Velcheck & Finger will strive to bring each aspect of our strategy together for the continued, successful development of the company now and into the future.”
