UPAF names co-chairs of 2012 campaign

The United Performing Arts Fund recently named its co-chairs for its 2012 UPAF Campaign

The United Performing Arts Fund has named David Lubar, president and chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based Lubar & Co., and Carlene Ziegler, co-founder and managing director of Artisan Partners Limited Partnership co-chairs for the 2012 UPAF Campaign.
"I am pleased to serve as co-chair for UPAF’s 2012 Campaign," Lubar said. "Not only are the performing arts a pleasure to experience firsthand, they encourage commerce, attract tourist dollars and talented professionals to our region, and create a positive economic impact. The performing arts are indispensable to the vitality of our area. They enrich our lives and create a dynamic environment that promotes growth and development."
Lubar joined Lubar & Co. in 1983 and is currently president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Lubar & Co., he was with Wells Fargo Bank formerly known as Norwest Bank in Minneapolis. He is a member of the board of directors for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, BMO Harris, Cogdell Spencer, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club as well as many private companies.
Ziegler, CFA is a managing director and co-founder of Artisan Partners Limited Partnership. Ziegler was portfolio co-manager for the firm’s U.S. Small-Cap Growth strategy from its inception in March 1995 until April 2008. She continues her involvement at Artisan in an advisory role. Prior to founding Artisan Partners, Ziegler was a portfolio manager at Strong Capital Management from 1991-1994. She joined the board of UPAF in 2003 and has served on the Executive, Finance & Investment, and Allocation committees.
"It is an honor to partner with David as co-chair of the 2012 Campaign," said Ziegler. "I am deeply committed to supporting the performing arts and have done so through the United Performing Arts Fund for many years.”
The 2011 UPAF Campaign, which ended in June, raised over $9.8 million for 34 performing arts groups. The 2012 Campaign goal will be announced in early 2012.
"UPAF is fortunate to have David and Carlene’s leadership and support for the 2012 Campaign," said Rich Meeusen, UPAF board chair and chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based Badger Meter Inc. "Their expertise is an invaluable asset as we work to secure funding for the fine performing arts groups which contribute so much to the quality of life in our region.”
