Ultimate Electronics plans to liquidate, close all of its stores

Thorton, Colo.-based Ultimate Acquisition Partners LP, the parent company of the Ultimate Electronics store chain, has filed for bankruptcy and recently asked a U.S. Bankruptcy Court for permission to liquidate.

That would result in the closing of all 46 of the Ultimate Electronics stores, including the store at 4585 S. 76th St. in Greenfield.

The Greenfield store opened last year in a former Circuit City store building. Circuit City also went out of business and closed all of its stores in 2009.
