U.S. News recognizes Marquette in 2016 Best Colleges list

Marquette University made the grade when U.S. News & World Report unveiled its list of the 2016 Best Colleges on Wednesday. Marquette, the state’s largest private university, tied for No. 86 on its list of the best national universities.

Marquette was also recognized for its finance, real estate and supply chain management/logistics undergraduate business programs; for its high school counselor rankings; and for its engineering, law and physical therapy graduate schools, among others.  

Several other Milwaukee-area colleges and universities made U.S. News’ list of the best regional universities in the Midwest. Alverno College tied for No. 64; Carroll University tied for No. 42; Concordia University tied for No. 54; Milwaukee School of Engineering tied for No. 15; and Mount Mary University tied for No. 75.

As for the best national liberal arts colleges, Carthage College tied for No. 154 and Wisconsin Lutheran College came in at No. 174.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee did not receive a ranking on the national universities list, but it was recognized for its high school counselor rankings; for its graduate schools including education, engineering and nursing; and for its online bachelor’s programs.
