Three former Boston Store buildings that once served as anchors to their respective malls in suburban Milwaukee are headed for online auction.
They include the Boston Store buildings at Brookfield Square, Mayfair Mall and Southridge Mall, and are scheduled to be auctioned between Oct. 26-28. The online auctions will take place on Ten-X.com.
The former Boston Store building at Brookfield Square is a nearly 217,500-square-foot, two-story building on a 16.3-acre parcel at 15875 W. Bluemound Road, Brookfield. The former Southridge Mall Boston Store building is a nearly 219,800-square-foot, two-story front and center building on 14.8 acres at 5300 S. 76th St., Greendale. Lastly, the former Mayfair Mall Boston Store at 2400 N. Mayfair Road totals nearly 206,700 square feet and spans three floors on a 15-acre lot.
A former Younkers building at Bay Park Square in Green Bay will also be auctioned. That two-story building totals roughly 136,600 square feet on 7.7 acres.
CBRE Wisconsin's Ben Weiland and Peter Glaser are representing the special servicer on the sale of the properties in Brookfield and Greendale. Kevin Schmoldt and Bruce Westling of Newmark Knight Frank are the local brokers handling the sale of the Mayfair Mall Boston Store.
"This is an amazing opportunity for investors who are looking to purchase one of Wisconsin’s premier retail locations, which are now available for the first time in a generation," Weiland said in a news release.
The buildings became vacant after The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., parent company of Boston Store and Younkers, went bankrupt and closed all its stores in 2018.
