A trio of southern Republican governors guvs combined in an assault on national Democratic policies with a call to get out the vote next week during a rally on behalf of Wisconsin GOP hopeful Scott Walker.
Haley Barbour of Mississippi, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Bob McDonnell of Virginia implored Walker supporters to not let up over the final days of the election during a rally Wednesday at KEI Inc., a landscape management company in Oak Creek.
"We cannot take anything for granted," Barbour implored, saying this fall’s races are more important than the 1994 election. "You’ve got to keep your foot on the accelerator. Don’t let up."
Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Tom Barrett was dismissive of the rally.
"For Scott, the benefit of having the governor of Mississippi and the governor of Louisiana here is to show that his policies are very in tune with the government of Mississippi and Louisiana," Barrett said. "In contrast, I’m talking to people who are actually going to be voting in this election."
