What has fueled your company’s growth?

“A relentless pursuit of process excellence for all aspects of our business. We invested heavily in technology and personnel during the economic downturn to provide improved access to information and overall capability for our clients. The strengthening of client relationships through more face to face meetings, providing better tools and proactive recommendations to lower their costs and to increase satisfaction with our services.”

What has been the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?

“Increased pressure on our client base and target clients from a government regulatory perspective which will diminish their investment in new plant, property and equipment and in turn reduce hiring and general mobility of their workforce. The general increase in complexity in managing a business day to day due to the volatile economy, tighter capital markets and an uncertain regulatory climate.”

Do you have any planned changes for your company in the coming months?

“At this point in time, we are not planning any changes beyond those that are part of our ongoing continuous improvement process and our overall strategic plan.”

Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? What traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them?

“The one person who had the greatest impact on me was George Shaheen, CEO of Andersen Consulting/Accenture when I first became a partner there. George had an unrelenting focus on excellence and making sure the company invested in the employees. He created an environment where the employees enjoyed their work, were well trained, compensated fairly and put their client’s satisfaction as a top priority. He also demanded accountability, creativity and entrepreneurship from the partners to fuel the growth of the business.”

What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months?

“Generally we are feeling positive about the business climate relating to our industry. Our clients are increasing their investments and expanding operations and production output which translates into more business for us. Hiring continues to be an issue as illustrated by the continued high unemployment rate but activity for our business relies less on new hires by our clients than the relocation of existing employees, which is up substantially over last year. Overall, we are cautiously optimistic.”

What has been your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession?

“Do everything well both from an internal and market facing/client perspective. We have made significant investments over the past couple years to provide the tools, training and support for our employees to do just that… perform at the highest level possible. As a result, we are very well positioned to continue our growth and profitability even in these tough times.”

Congratulations from the strategic partner behind TRC Global Solutions
