Torginol purchases former Safco building in Sheboygan

Company manufacturers resinous performance flooring

Sheboygan-based Torginol Inc. purchased two parcels not far from its South Taylor Drive facility for $4.58 million, according to state records.

The manufacturer of resinous performance flooring bought 13.9 acres at 4350 Tower Drive from Office Service Co. LLP. One parcel covers 10.2 acres and includes a building previously occupied by office furniture maker Safco Products. Safco, which acquired Sheboygan-based Mayline Co. in 2016 announced last year it would close its three Sheboygan facilities and move work to Iowa and Minnesota.

An adjacent parcel also purchased by Torginol covers 3.7 acres and is currently vacant. Combined, the properties are assessed at $2.9 million, according to Sheboygan County records.

Torginol did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the purchase. The company added 2,500 square feet to its facility at 4617 S. Taylor Drive in 2015.
