“Our Company’s growth has been fueled by focusing on our niche and customer base while following a strategy of conservative sustainable growth.”
What has been the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?
“Our biggest obstacle to company growth is the mindset of ‘wait and see’ that has become prevalent in this uncertain and fragile economy. We’ve had many projects put on hold or delayed for months because people are afraid to make the jump.”
Do you have any planned changes for your company in the coming months?
“We are investing in technology and additional equipment. We are also hiring employees at all levels. In the middle of August we’re opening up in Springfield, Va., and in October we’re expanding to Indianapolis, Ind.”
Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? What traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them?
“The list is long but I would have to say any small business man or woman that lays it on the line every day. The trait that I admire most in any leader is a never ending ‘can do’ attitude.”
What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months?
“Companies are starting to gear up for a bounce. I’m seeing increases in hiring and equipment purchases. Our call volume has also gone up with companies inquiring about rates and services. The rest of 2010 will probably be flat but signs point to an improved 2011.”
What has been your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession?
“Our company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession is to forge ahead and not put things ‘on hold.’ We are focusing on our niche and current customer base without the fear of growing and the costs that growth involves. We continue to invest in people, technology, processes, and equipment in order to position ourselves for when we finally do reach the light at the end of the tunnel.”
