What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?
“Invested in our data center and voice over IP technologies.”
What’s new at your company?
“We have some new faces (hires) that we are very excited about, and we are expanding our data center footprint from two locations to a third in the Midwest. The third location is a hardened underground facility.”
Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?
“We have hired some new staff recently and are looking for a few more to address some of the current and upcoming opportunities. We are continuing to invest in our data center “core” to keep up with the additional bandwidth demands of our customers for backup, disaster recovery and Internet.”
What will be your company’s main challenges in the next year?
“Managing growth.”
What’s the hottest trend in your industry?
“Cloud computing, virtualization and IP telephony.”
Do you have a business mantra?
“Technology On Purpose.”
From a business standpoint, who do you look up to?
“I belong to a group called TEC – The Executive Committee. There are 12 individuals in that group that are responsibly running their respective businesses. Every one of them has unique insight and advice that helps me at TSR. I look up to every one of them as they provide me with sound, unfiltered insight that keeps me and TSR focused and successful.”
What was the best advice you ever received?
“What gets scheduled is what gets done.”
What’s the funniest thing that ever happened to you in your career?
“Too many to list. There are many funny things that happen when you do this for more than 20 years.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“Spend time with my wife and children. Snow and water ski, Think of new business opportunities to pursue both in and outside of the technology field.”
