What has fueled your company’s growth?: “In the past few years, we’ve been able to capitalize on distressed land positions which allowed us to build in multiple neighborhoods in a very short time. In addition, our experienced team has been vital during this time of growth.”

What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?: “Managing the growth and fine-tuning our processes while at the same time maintaining an extraordinary building experience for our external and internal customers.”

Do you plan any changes in your company in the upcoming months?: “We are in the planning and design phase of building a 1700-square-foot Design Studio at our main office in Pewaukee. Our goal is to grand open the studio in early 2014. Within the upcoming months and throughout 2014, we will be increasing our land positions and have centralized market locations with complete neighborhoods. Finally, our leadership team is going through strategy planning to sustain our growth and continue to improve our internal processes.”

Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? And what traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them?: “Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos.com. Zappos has developed an unique culture and strong set of core values. As Tim O’Brien Homes grow, we don’t want to lose site of our professional environment, culture, and customer service. We created 7 Core Values that are a reflection of our company’s guiding principles that inspire our daily work and underscore our steadfast commitment to our customers, vendor partners and each other. These ideas were adapted from the culture developed by Hsieh at Zappos.”

What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months?: “Our industry is improving and should continue to improve over the next 6 to 12 months.”

What is your company’s most important growth strategy right now?: “To manage the growth and develop key processes to enhance the customer experience.”
