Since 1990, New Berlin-based Anderson Seal, Inc., has provided both quality products and quality customer service to its clients. Jennifer Hansen came on board in 1994 and purchased the rubber component and critical seal manufacturing company from her father, Philip, in 2003. She is now president and owner of the company.
“When I purchased the company from my father we had already grown significantly from when he had started,” Hansen said. “We continued to grow and offer value-added and differentiated services to our existing core customer base.”
In addition to the company’s niche market in the design and manufacturing of rubber components and critical seals, the company expanded to offer after-market packaging and kit assembly.
In 2013, Hansen formed a holding company, Anderson Group Inc., and split the offered services into subsidiary companies; Anderson Seal, LLC, and Anderson Packaging, LLC. In the last three years, the company revenue has grown 82 percent and it has more than doubled its total employee count.
“There is a lot that has contributed to our growth,” Hansen said. “I think being open to offering different services to your customers that you think may be outside of your core competency is a huge reason for our success. Having the ability to recognize those opportunities is one thing, but having the diligence and the workforce on hand that is empowered, engaged and flexible enough to successfully drive that growth is the real reason we’ve been able to be so successful.”
The company began with approximately 1,200 square feet, and today, occupies approximately 85,000 square feet of production space. Hansen plans to continue the company growth plans by identifying new market spaces, investing in a quality workforce and the surrounding community.
“We continue to focus on growing our distribution business as we have in the past,” she said. “We’ve identified other key markets that we haven’t penetrated yet. We will continue to grow and form those relationships with the community moving forward and giving back where we can.”
