Texas company acquires Sterling Aviation

Landmark Aviation’s Aircraft Management & Charter division recently expanded its fleet with the acquisition of Sterling Aviation, a full-service aircraft management and charter provider at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee.

The acquisition of Sterling Aviation added to the Landmark fleet 12 MKE-based aircraft including a 14-passenger Challenger 604, a nine-passenger Hawker 850XP and a nine-passenger Citation Sovereign. The planes are available for charter.

“We are excited to welcome Sterling into our network,” Landmark Aviation president of aircraft management and charter Ben Murray said. “We aim to build on the outstanding reputation Sterling has developed in the Midwest. We are also committed to the consistent expansion of our fleet to meet the evolving needs of our customers. The additions now bring Landmark’s managed fleet to 83 aircraft nationwide. Landmark, as an expansive network of fixed base operations (FBO) and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, is able to fully support its fleet as well as allow management customers to leverage the company’s purchasing power. Landmark looks forward to its increased presence in the Midwest and hopes to expand its managed fleet in the local area. Proper asset management and utilization are key in maximizing your aircraft investment. Current and potential aircraft owners should evaluate the management of this investment from time to time to ensure expectations are being met.”

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Landmark Aviation operates a network of fixed base operations located throughout the United States, Canada and Western Europe. Landmark is a portfolio company of the Carlyle Group.
