The University of Wisconsin-Parkside has teamed with Prodesse, Inc., a Waukesha-based biotechnology company, to create the firm’s new Web site.

Brought together by TechStar, the company worked with UW-Parkside computer science major Mark Lalumondier and faculty member Tim Knautz to launch www.prodesse.com on the Internet.
TechStar is a consortium of area higher education institutions and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
Lalumondier said priorities in developing the site were ease of navigation and a user-friendly design allowing health-care professionals worldwide to access information on Prodesse’s laboratory services and products. He said it was a good experience. "My goal was to create a site that easily conveyed the company’s message to their customers while being simple to navigate and maintain," Lalumondier said. "It was great having an opportunity like this to be able to apply the skills I have been learning at UW-Parkside."
Prodesse is a newly created biotechnology company providing patented gene-based molecular diagnostic techniques for the evaluation and treatment of infectious diseases. Medical professionals now can quickly determine the benefits of Prodesse products and interact with the company by making suggestions for products in the early development stage through the Web site. The finished product impressed Prodesse management.
"Mark and Tim have done a marvelous job in designing, constructing and fine-tuning a sophisticated site," said Prodesse president and CEO Tom Shannon. "Prodesse is appreciative of the critical support UW-Parkside and TechStar provided in the development of our Web site." Shannon said the site has been well received by Prodesse customers, adding it provides a potent platform for the company’s selling efforts.
