Tailored Label acquires division of Stratix

Tailored Label Products Inc. of Menomonee Falls has acquired the label products division of Norcross, Ga.-based Stratix Corp.

Tailored Label had already planned to open a sales office in the Atlanta area, so the acquisition was a good fit for its mission, according to company president Mike Erwin.
Tailored Label is constructing a new, 10,000-square-foot facility in Atlanta, which will house eight Stratix employees who are joining the company.
The Atlanta location, Tailored Label’s second production facility, will allow for additional capacity as well as an alternate production plant in the event of an emergency.
“It’s an exact duplicate of the technical capabilities we have in Menomonee Falls,” Erwin said. “They have similar techniques and similar processes.”
The acquisition also enables the company to get closer to customers and implement a regional distribution center, he said.
“We’ve got clients in that region that we want to enhance the service to,” Erwin said. “It allows us to serve some new market verticals that are really strong brands in that region.”
Erwin worked with the M&A team at Schenck SC in Milwaukee to develop a strategic growth plan, he said.
“This won’t be the last company we buy,” Erwin said. “We’re going to continue to be acquisitive over the next 24 to 36 months.”
