MTE Corp. announced it is increasing the capacity of its 44,000-square-foot Menomonee Falls headquarters by 20 percent and investing more than $500,000 in improvements. MTE is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-efficiency electrical power quality solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
MTE plans to make more than 10,000 square feet of improvements and build an additional office, according to Jaclyn Ramm, MTE’s safety and facilities manager. The work is scheduled to be completed in August.
Z Zakaria, director of marketing and product management, said the expansion is to accommodate the growth the manufacturer has achieved the last few years due in part to its enhanced product portfolio. The company has experienced five consecutive years of double-digit growth.
“Menomonee Falls is our global research and development center, so the investment is to make sure we are continuing to innovate and develop technology,” he said.
Additionally, MTE recently extended its lease through 2020, which the company says reaffirms its commitment to its Menomonee Falls location. MTE was started nearly 35 years ago in Milwaukee, and has been headquartered for the past two decades in Menomonee Falls.
“It’s important for us to keep our headquarters in Wisconsin and also to expand our manufacturing,” said Don Klein, MTE president. “We are proud to have this increased capability for supporting our customers. It is also important for us to provide the best work place environment for our existing employees and to attract new hires as we continue to grow.”
MTE has also operated a plant in Mexicali, Mexico, since 2008. It manufactures MTE’s Reactors, DC Link Chokes, dV Sentry and SineWave Guardian motor protection filters. MTE is making “significant” investments in capital equipment and operations support teams at this site as well, although no monetary details were immediately provided.
