Summerfest announces Selena Gomez will headline in 2016

Milwaukee World Festival Inc. today announced its first Summerfest 2016 headliner act—pop star Selena Gomez.

Gomez will perform at the Marcus Amphitheater on Wednesday, June 29, which will be opening night of the 10-day festival. The performance is part of the multi-platinum artist’s global “Revival Tour,” during which she will visit 41 U.S. and Canadian cities beginning in Las Vegas on May 6.

“I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person,” Gomez said. “This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material.”

Gomez’s new album, “Revival,” will be released by Interscope Records on Oct. 9, featuring the lead single “Good for You.”

Tickets for the Summerfest show will go on sale on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 19 a.m.
