One county exec candidate is pushing for Milwaukee County voters to have a say in shrinking the board and classifying supervisors to part-time.
State Rep. Jeff Stone, R-Greendale, wants the questions posed to voters as advisory referenda on the April 5 ballot. The first would ask if the board should be reduced from its current size of 19 members, while the second would ask if the supervisors should be defined as part-time employees, with commensurate part-time pay and benefits.
“It is time to reduce the size and cost of county government. Every option must be considered including the size and role of the County Board," Stone said.
