State foreclosures continue to rise

Data compiled by ForeclosuresWI.com shows that foreclosures in the state continue to rise. The state had 2,060 foreclosure filings in March, up nearly 30 percent compared to March of 2007. For the first three months of the year foreclosures in Wisconsin are up 36.4 percent, from 4,834 in 2007 to 6,592 in 2008. For the same period, foreclosures in Milwaukee County rose 37.5 percent from 1,196 in 2007 to 1,644 in 2008, foreclosures rose in Kenosha County 39.8 percent from 191 to 267, foreclosures rose in Ozaukee County 38.2 percent from 34 to 47, foreclosures rose 42.7 percent in Sheboygan County from 75 to 107, foreclosures rose 7.3 percent in Walworth County from 124 to 133, foreclosures rose 38 percent in Washington County from 79 to 109 and foreclosures rose in Waukesha County 31.4 percent from 210 to 276.
