Starbucks planned near airport

A Starbucks store will be built in the City of Milwaukee near Mitchell International Airport.

The 1,700-square-foot Starbucks store will be built on a vacant lot at the southwest corner of Layton Avenue and South 6th Street, according to plans submitted to the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals. It will be the closest Starbucks location to the airport, other than the location that is in the airport itself.

It will be a freestanding Starbucks store and will be located next to the Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurant at 639 W. Layton Ave.

The Starbucks store will have 12 to 20 employees.
