St. Joseph’s Hospital expands Special Care Nursery

Froedtert Health St. Joseph’s Hospital has completed the expansion of its Special Care Nursery at its New Life Center in West Bend, thanks to a $265,000 gift from an anonymous donor.

Located at Washington County’s only hospital with birthing services, the Special Care Nursery has expanded from three beds to six, and has doubled the total room size. The rooms feature windows for family viewing, better privacy for family members, an upgraded cardiac monitoring system, wood grain laminate flooring, soothing colors, and improved workspace with additional natural light sources for staff.

The Special Care Nursery offers a higher level of care to newborns who need additional attention, such as for babies who are less than full-term or of low birth weight.
