St. Ann Center opens new nurse-managed health and wellness clinic

The Milwaukee-based St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is opening a nurse-managed health and wellness clinic to serve the needs of clients, staff, volunteers and the community. The clinic will begin services on Monday.

The clinic is located at the St. Ann Center, 2801 E. Morgan Ave.

The clinic expands St. Ann Center’s vision to create a more comprehensive level of care. Health education programs will be provided, as well as on-site screenings for chronic disease and health risks for clients and community.

The nurse-managed health and wellness clinic is staffed by nurse practitioner Kathy Schumacher who will provide services for minor illnesses and injuries. She will refer clients for more advanced and specific care as needed.

The clinic can assess and treat conditions including cough/bronchitis, sinus infections, ringworm, minor rashes, shingles, insect stings, ear infections, poison ivy/oak, sore throat-strep screens, ear wax removals, seasonal allergies, influenza, female bladder infections, pink eye, and minor lower back pain.

The clinic also can provide pregnancy and diabetes screenings and check blood pressure, height, weight and body mass index.

The walk-in clinic carries a flat fee of $35 ($30 for St. Ann Center staff), with cash, checks or credit cards accepted. Other methods of payment will be assessed in the future.

Regular days and hours are Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
