St. Aemilian-Lakeside, Inc., a nonprofit human services organization dedicated to foster care, education and mental health services in Southeastern Wisconsin, has received Praesidium Accreditation, according to an announcement the organization made Wednesday.
The accreditation, granted by Praesidium, Inc., a leading abuse risk management agency based in Houston, will cover St. Aemilian-Lakeside for three years. To earn accreditation, St. Aemilian-Lakeside was assessed in eight primary operational areas including policies, screening and selection, training, monitoring and supervision, consumer participation, feedback systems, responding and administrative systems. Results were measured against 800 best practice standards and data collection methods to evaluate the risk of abuse.
“We are pleased to send the message that we will not compromise the safety of those in our care – for any reason,” said Teri Zywicki, president and CEO of St. Aemilian-Lakeside. “As an entire organization, we are dedicated and committed to proactively keeping those in our care safe from sexual abuse.”
St. Aemilian-Lakeside is the second Wisconsin agency to receive accreditation, according to the announcement. Oconomowoc Residential Programs is also accredited.
St. Aemilian-Lakeside is located at 8901 W. Capital Drive in Milwaukee.
