Sprecher introduces hard ginger beer

Glendale-based beer and soda manufacturer Sprecher Brewing Co. has introduced its newest product, Hard Ginger Beer.

The low alcohol malt beverage is flavored with natural ginger and lime. The drink is used in cocktails like the popular Moscow Mule, or by itself.

The drink was bottled last week and will be on shelves in time for the July 4th holiday this week. Sprecher Hard Root Beer was introduced in 2013 and was a customer hit.

“Sprecher Ginger Ale has long been considered tops in its category,” said Sprecher president Jeff Hamilton. “We decided to see what would happen if we used it to create a low alcohol malt beverage. Based on early customer feedback, we’re pretty confident our brewmaster created a winner. Most ginger beers are non-alcoholic. Ours is 4.7% alcohol by volume, which, along with its taste profile, makes Sprecher Hard Ginger Beer unique.”
